Series 602 Straight Flute Spiral Point Taps

spiral point tap

The angular flutes at the front end of a spiral pointed tap serve to propel the chips ahead of the tap and out of the tapped hole. It is this feature plus excellent shearing action of the flute contour which makes them ideal taps for production tapping through holes. Also very good for hand tapping.

Available in:

Plug - Generally used in through holes or blind holes with sufficient clearance.
Bottoming - Generates full threads to within 1 1/2 - 2 threads of bottom of blind holes

Ideal for production tapping of thin sections of steel, brass, copper and aluminum. Spiral points and heavy cross-sections provide shearing action and increased rigidity to prevent breakage caused by misalignment. Available in plug style only.
